Nestled in the coastal foothills in the northernmost part of the Willamette Valley, Risdall Ranch is surrounded by forest, protecting it from extreme temperatures. Planted in 1972, this hidden gem of a site was among the first Pinot Noir vineyards in the state. The nose is concentrated and intense with notes of blackberry reduction, misty forest walks, and pepper. The palate is racy with tension showing tart huckleberry flavors. The 2016 growing season was very warm and dry. The resulting wines are ripe, generous, and driven with fruit characteristics.
