2018 History Risdall Ranch Pinot Noir

WINEMAKER’S NOTES

Risdall Ranch is one of the pioneering vineyards in the Willamette Valley. The maritime influence on this vineyard makes this site an ideal location for cool-climate varietals, producing delicate and expressive Pinot Noir from vines that are more than 40 years old.

VINTAGE OVERVIEW

The aromatics are exotic, reminiscent of warm spices and sweet tobacco. The palate is bright with a soft, silky texture complemented with currant and cranberry flavors. Delicious now, this wine will continue to evolve in the bottle for years to come. On average, the 2018 vintage was a warmer and drier growing season. The most notable climatic feature to the 2018 vintage was our pleasantly dry and moderately warm harvest weather that continued into early November. This allowed us to pick based on ripe flavors and near-perfect natural acidity.
