2014 History Otis Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Planted by Otis Harlan in 1957, the Otis Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is the oldest planting of the varietal in Washington State. Located in a cooler section of the Yakima Valley, Otis Vineyard produces an elegant interpretation of the varietal.
On the nose, the wine shows black-raspberry, dried herb, red rose, pepper and earth. These characteristics carry through on the palate with a mid-weight body and perfect balance.
The 2014 vintage was a near-perfect growing season, with 3-tons of fruit harvested on October 30. The fruit experienced native fermentation before aging in French oak barrels for 18-months. Only 30% of the of the oak used was new, allowing the fruit from this special site to shine. This wine will age beautifully for years to come.
