2016 History Mont Elise Vineyard Pinot Noir
WINEMAKER’S NOTES
The fruit from this vineyard was the catalyst for History. Planted by Charles (Chuck) Henderson in the late 1960s, this vineyard was among the first planted in the Columbia Gorge AVA. This high elevation site in White Salmon, Washington, sits at 1,800 ft. and has a condensed, focused growing season with warm days and cool nights, creating beautiful vibrant wines. The nose shows cassis, herb de Provence and cranberry. On the palate, the wine is medium in body with bright acidity, showing tart red fruit with hints of pepper. This wine will continue to develop in bottle, becoming more expressive with time.
VINTAGE OVERVIEW
The 2016 growing season was moderately warm and dry, which allowed for long hang time, creating complex flavors in the resulting wines.
