2020 History Columbia Valley Red Blend
TASTING NOTES FROM WINEMAKER, MELISSA BURR
The 2020 vintage in the Columbia Valley gave us concentrated, impactful fruit, and this wine reflects that energy both aromatically and on the palate. Rich notes of cassis, mission fig, and earthen clay greet you on the nose, while a sip reveals great acidity and driving length. The wine coats the mouth expansively while the flavors dive into subtle notes of cigar box, green peppercorn, and brandied cherry. This New World take on a classic Bordeaux blend calls for pairings with grilled tenderloin or spaghetti bolognese.
VINTAGE OVERVIEW
The 2020 vintage was a relatively warm growing season in Washington state, the perfect conditions for high cluster counts with small berries. As a result, the skin-to-juice ratio was higher than average, allowing us to craft high-quality wines with rich, concentrated flavors. The quantity of wine we made was limited due to the small fruit set, which means every bottle will be savored for years to come.
