Paddle Away Rosé

Formed in 1996, Portland's Pink Phoenix prides itself on being the very first breast cancer dragon boat team to form in the United States. The team name honors the mythical bird who rises from the ashes symbolizing rebirth and the beginning of new life. Through paddling, survivors and thrivers find strength in their connection with the water and each other by embracing the team's mission:  to empower breast cancer survivors through the sport of dragon boating.  The women of Pink Phoenix credit dragon boating as a significant contributor in becoming a stronger version of themselves after a breast cancer diagnosis.
